In one line: Spirituality enhances physicality — it doesn't replace it. You have a spiritual identity (precious to God) and a physical identity (that labours toward your destiny); both need guarding.

You are my people. You have a dual identity. Now, you have to understand what identity God pays attention to.

Or what identity comes first to God.

That is why you find scripture tells us this way. Let anyone's adorning be of the inward man. Yes. But not so much the outward man. He didn't say ignore the outward man, but encourages you to adorn the inward man. Meaning that there are two versions of you. There is a version of you that is invisible and there is a version of you that is material.

So, you have a spiritual identity and you have a physical identity.

I feel it in my bones.

1 Peter 3:3 Whose adorning let it not be that of the outward adorning of plating the hair and of wearing gold or of putting on of apparel. Verse 4 But let it be the hidden man of what? The heart. In that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit which is in the sight of God of great price.

So, there are two identities. There's one identity you have that is extremely precious to God. And the secondary identity is still important to God, but your primary identity has much more significance in the sight of God than your secondary identity.

Are you tracking with me so far?

Now, the issue is your spiritual identity determines your future.

Your physical identity determines the labor you will do that will lead you to that future.

Meaning you need your body to carry out what is in your spirit. But you need your spirit to ensure that you get to the end goal.

So whenever we pray for God's protection, God does not primarily protect the outward man in the sense that you will think.

An example, your spirit doesn't get sick, but your spirit can tell your body it's about to get sick. That is why you can feel like you're about to get sick.

You're discerning sickness not because you've started feeling becoming sick. I just have that feeling like I'm about to get sick. Notice your spirit is warning your body that you're you're under attack. Start taking vitamins and stuff because spirituality only enhances physicality. It does not replace the physical realm. Christians make a mistake to think that their spiritual life is a replacement of their physical life and that is not accurate.

If you want to know somebody is extremely spiritual as they claim to be.

Their spiritual life will enhance their physical life. They will be better human beings. That's true. They will be more helpful. They will be more caring. They will be all these things because they will be sensitive to God's spirit, making them sensitive to people's needs. Amen. Amen. So, anyone that is spiritually mature, but they put people down, they insult people, they curse people, they do all these things, immediately you understand that they're not as mature as they think they are. The Bible says, "For we do not have a high priest who cannot be touched by our infirmities." Notice, Jesus can be touched by our infirmities. That is why he can relate to us.

Amen. He knows what it feels like. He doesn't just have knowledge of it, he knows what it feels like. The Bible says that because he suffered temptation, he's quick to deliver those who are also suffering temptation. Notice, Jesus did not just say those who are going through temptation. He said, "Suffering." Because when you're going through temptation, it is a process of suffering.

Because you have to tear yourself into two and not give in to one nature and lean to the other nature. It's suffering. It's a process of suffering. Am I communicating?

Yes, sir.

Hebrews 2:18. For in that he himself had suffered being tempted, he is able to secure them that are what? Tempted. He's able to secure you. He's able to provide a way out. Why? He suffered it. He can't let you see how long you will resist. No, he will make a way out. He knows you can't stay in there for too long. Hallelujah.

So now, as we push this deeper now, you have a physical identity and a spiritual identity. And your spiritual identity protects you from every spiritual attack.

Your physical identity protects you against snares of the enemy that will implicate your flesh not to fulfill what is in your spirit. Your spiritual identity or your inner man protects you from spiritual attacks that would destroy your flesh and hinder your spirit. Your physical identity or your physical man saves you from snares that will hinder the body and implicate the spirit not to fulfill what it needs to through your body.

Amen. Is this making sense?

Yes. That is why you find like if you are a man of God serving God faithfully and then you fall into temptation some kind of temptation. What happens is that your inner man now is hindered because you're in this scandal and you can't serve God while being in some kind of scandal. It will hinder even though you can, it will hinder because Satan will use that to tarnish you so that you have no voice.

And if you have no voice, then your spirit is of no use because it's supposed to touch certain people. And now there's now a wall between you and those people. Do you get what I'm saying? Oh, yeah.

It becomes a problem. Is this making sense?

It is. You're helping. So now it becomes a different kind of battle. Go to the book of Numbers.

Numbers chapter 23.

And from verse 17 to 26. Numbers 23 Mhm. 17 to 26.

Mhm. And when he came to him, behold, he stood by his burnt offering and the princes of Moab with him. And Balak said unto him, "What hath the Lord spoken?" And he took up his parable and said, "Rise up, Balak, and hear. Hearken unto me, thou son of Zippor. God is not a man that he should lie, neither the son of man that he should repent. Hath he said and shall he not do it? Or hath he spoken and shall he not make it good?"

Remember it's a wizard saying this. And Christians quote this The man was hired to do evil. And God put a word in his mouth.

Amen. One day we'll discuss this, but not right now. Uh, keep going, Auntie Bains. Verse 20. Uh-huh. Behold, I have received commandment to bless thee, and he hath blessed. No, behold, I have received commandment to bless, and he hath blessed. And I cannot reverse it.
Mhm. He hath not beheld iniquity in Jacob, neither hath he seen perverseness in Israel. The Lord his God is with him, and the shout of a king is among them. Stop right there. God is talking about the same person.

So, the wizard has been given a charge to curse the nation of Israel.

Now, you have to remember Israel can do no wrong in God's eyes because Israel is his firstborn.

But Jacob can. Wow. Wow. Wow. Now, if you know who Jacob is Jacob is Israel. Hey, is somebody hearing me?

Yes. I feel like you can't hear me. We hear you.

This is the same person.

Listen to what he says. He had not beheld iniquity in Jacob.

So, who is the organ of sinning? The body. Neither has he seen perverseness in Israel. Notice, your inner man can become perverted. That's why you find that David said, "Create in me what?" A new heart. And renew a what? Right spirit.

So, your spirit man his only sin against God is when he becomes what? Perverted. Wow. When he diverts from seeking God's intention That's good. Now, he's in trouble.

An example. How do you know your spirit is starting to go the wrong way?

That's a good question, right? Yes. Yes. Create in me a new heart and renew a right spirit within me. The heart is the soul. Yes. Spirit is your inner man. Now, the heart can desire any kind of wicked thing.

Yes. It only becomes a sin when your soul when your spirit agrees with it. Wow. Oh, wow. Wow. You didn't hear what I just told you. That's good. Your soul is still being renewed. Yes. Remember, to be tempted is not to sin.

I see. You can be tempted. It doesn't mean you have sinned.

The flesh of the Lord Jesus wanted bread. But when the devil now used the the hunger to suggest that he should turn the rock into bread, his spirit was irritated and said, "No, man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God." But we know according to the flesh, if you don't eat, you die. Yes.

Yes. Can we be real? Yes. No, you can't live without food. Your body will die. But what the Lord Jesus said is that I am willing to surrender this body, Come on. but to live according to the spirit.

Hallelujah. Because every word that comes from God will sustain my inner man. Hallelujah.

Because heaven and earth will pass, but my word shall never what? Pass away. So, to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. So, I live by what God says, not by what bread gives me, because I can eat bread today and die tomorrow. Amen. But I can receive the word of God. I am guaranteed to live tomorrow.

Hallelujah. You need to start praying for you to have a renewed right spirit.

Yeah. When your spirit is no longer irritated, angered even, frustrated, when your soul desires to do wrong. Amen.

Wow. It means your spirit has become tainted. Wow. Wow.

I want to do this. Uh, yeah. But before, when you wanted to do something that your flesh suggested, your spirit will literally You will feel like you are tearing into two pieces. That is why the Bible says it this way. Says He says it this way.

The spirit lusts after the flesh and the flesh after the spirit. And these two are contrary to one another. Meaning you should have a consist If you want to know you're maturing spiritually, Ooh, that's good. you must have an internal battle. Yes. Wow.

Yes. That's good. Yeah. Yeah. Mhm. If there is no inter- internal battle, then you're not growing. Galatians chapter 5 verse 17. Yeah. For the flesh lusts against the spirit, and the spirit against the flesh. And these are contrary the one to the other, so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. So, who is restraining you from actually doing the bad thing? Is your spirit.

Yeah. Amen. Because your spirit will always oppose the flesh. Amen. Amen.
