Now hear me by the spirit of God.

Prayer is divided into three categories.

And if you don't know the category that your prayer is is in, you'll fail to pray correctly concerning your request before God. I'll say it one more time. Prayer.

Prayer is divided into three categories.

Now, with all my travels since I was young, uh, being in church, watching people pray, watching a lot of prayer warriors pray, I realize that most people don't know how to pray because we think if I just come before God and I say one or two things and I say the name of Jesus, it means I receive it.

But when you read in scripture, you realize that prayers are in different categories.

Prayers are in different categories. And based on the kind of prayer you desire to present before God, the way you pray about it is also different. You see in Matthew chapter 6, the apostles of the Lord Jesus coming to him and saying, "Lord, teach us how to pray like the disciples of John." Now Jesus was training them in what is called sunship.

So they didn't have to ask for anything because Jesus was with them.

Amen. But they realized the Pharisees and the disciples of John prayed completely differently because the disciples of John actually assisted John in ministry.

Mhm.

And because John was not the Lord, they had to go through the hard way. But the apostles had the easy way because God himself was with them.

Amen. So Peter never needed to pay to pray for finances because the presence of Jesus provokes fish.

I don't know if somebody's understanding.

Amen.

Jesus is with me. Fishing will not be a problem. I don't need bait. I need Jesus.

So the Lord was training them in what is called sunship. So he never saw the point of teaching them how to pray like other people. He was putting them in a different bracket.

Yes.

So that they can approach God differently because my sons will approach me differently.

Yeah.

Than a stranger's son.

My spiritual children, which is you who are here, you approach me differently than somebody who just came to church.

Yes,

those who are my spiritual children, they know they can call me if they have access to me. Papa Lo, I need this. I haven't paid rent or this is happening. I'll be like, okay, what's going on with work? Okay. Uh, call so and so. He's going to help you to do it and it's taken care of. I can't do that for everybody but I do that for select people who God has joined us by his spirit.

Amen.

Is this making sense so far?

Yes.

So depending on your stance with God, there is a way you pray. Knowing the category that your prayer falls into. The first category of prayers is needs because needs is the first category when it comes to prayer. Needs and then we have cares.

And then the third one we have what is called desires.

Needs, cares, desires. Needs, cares, desires. What are needs? Needs is your daily bread.

I need I need to pay my rent. I need I need to If I don't work, we can't eat. This is what you need to be alive.

Most people go to work because they are in need.

Most people want a breakthrough so that they can stop needing. Am I talking to myself? Come on. Yo,

talking to us.

needs are the primary one because you even see in our Lord's prayer in Matthew chapter 6 says pray after this manner our father who art in heaven hallowed be thy name thy kingdom come your will be done on earth as it is in heaven give us this day our daily bread need Now the problem with how you approach needs is that you ask God to take care of your needs as if he's doing you a favor.

If you approach your daily needs before God as a favor, you are praying incorrectly.

Are y'all listening to me?

Because God being your father, it is your right to demand bread from him.

So if you approach your needs before God, oh father, I pray in the name of Jesus. Father remember me this month as my rent is approaching.

Oh father you make a way where there is no way. You are praying incorrectly because you have turned a need into another category prayer.

Yet if God is my dad

Yes.

I am bold to go to him and say hey pups I'm hungry.

Can we go to McDonald's? That's right.

When I pick up Andrew from school, sometimes when I have time, be like, "Hey, Dad. Uh, can we stop by by, you know, Thai food? Can we not? Is it okay?"

Uhhuh.

Sometimes I'll be like, "No, there's food at home." Like, but dad, you know, come on, Dad. All right, man. Let's go. He knows I will break because how you approach your need as a child and a son or a daughter of God is completely different than somebody who had just met God asking for something.

Amen.

If I have a need and God is my father, I don't need two hours to pray for my need.

Amen.

Because that has turned into intercession

and my needs don't need an intercessory prayer.

Yeah.

Come on. You're teaching good. The prayer of intercession, you know, our intercession has nothing to do with needs. I have seen people spending time

praying for things that they should have never spent a whole week fasting and praying for. Jesus

because that miscar you're mischaracterizing God

that God I need to cry for you

and I need to cry to you for a week for you to just put food on my table yet I am your child.

Come on.

So most of us are mocking God, making God a laughingtock because we have not understood our position. When it comes to communicating with God concerning our needs,

what am I going to wear tomorrow? I don't even have anything to wear. Oh, my clothes are old. I outgrew my shoes.

This and this has changed. My house is too small now.

If I fast and pray, come on, man. Receive your house. Amen.

No, you can outgrow your house. Not even because there's a lot of people.

That's right. That's right.

You know, homes became a hobby for me because I realized I could outgrow houses and God could give me another one.

You start making it feel like coming from your room to the kitchen is too close.

You start this place is kind of small. It could be nice if people can people sitting there. is all you're doing. I don't know if somebody's getting what I'm saying.

It is virtually impossible to intercede for food on your table.

I am going to fast and pray and break the backbone of poverty. Poverty cannot be broken by fasting and prayer.

doesn't work like that.

Nope. Because poverty is not a demon.

Even though a demon can cause you to be po poor, but poverty is not an entity.

So you can't bind it. If it was so, the whole church would be billionaires.

Come on. So comprehend this by the spirit of God.

I cannot approach God with needs in the same way I approach God when I'm dealing with demons.

That's good. Yeah.

I claim my bread right now. I claim you're claiming what is yours

makes absolutely no sense because we have misunderstood from what angle we are approaching God for what we need.

Yeah.

God has given us everything pertaining life and what godliness. So there are certain prayers that cannot proceed from us because of spiritual maturity.
