Why 'Building a Relationship with God' is a Flawed Concept

Summary
In one line: "Building a relationship with God" is a flawed idea — you don't build a relationship with God, you grow in discovering a love that was already complete before you knew Him.
Key insights
- If the relationship depended on us, everyone could boast of a deep relationship with God. The church fathers never had that concept.
- The son analogy: his toddler Sale is wild, but "he's still mine — he doesn't earn anything from me." Food and shelter are already provided; even when he does wrong, "I'm still stuck with him." You belong to God; stop trying to earn the love of the One who birthed you.
- Children grow in discovering, not in earning. A baby first knows the mother as food, then comfort, then "mama," then discovers "dad." The parents haven't changed — the child is growing in understanding of a love already present.
- God doesn't love you any differently now than when you were in the world. "If He loves you more because you are now a Christian, then His love was fake." He commended His love while we were still sinners (Romans 5:8).
- When God gave Jesus, He gave everything. God's greatest treasure was given at our worst — so everything else He gives us is what Jesus already owns.
- Spiritual truths come as concepts. Jesus used farming language — "the kingdom is like a farmer who went out to sow" (Matthew 13:3-9) — to explain heavenly realities to farmers.

This idea of building a relationship with God is the most foolish Christian concept that the fathers before church fathers never had that concept. Because if the criterion of a relationship with God is left up to us, everybody can boast of having a deep relationship with God. But nobody can have a relationship with God in terms of building it. That is crazy.
When the Lord revealed this to me very, very long time ago, I was very, very young and this was when God was raising me to be a prophet. I didn't have any mentor at that time. I didn't have any teacher. All I had was a gift, a calling, and a God who visited me and what I knew was from my encounters with God and the little time I went to church, then I realized that the guys at church don't even really know him.
Very few are outstanding that you can tell that one knows God. I look at my children. I look at Sale, who's driving me crazy right now. He's almost 2 years old and he's the energy is just like, "Why can't you be like your older brother?" Cuz Andrew's just always been calm. Since he was young and growing up, Sale is like I gave birth to myself.
Andrew is like my father. He was very quiet, doesn't say much. Andrew can be vocal, but there are times he's so quiet you don't even know that he's there. And he's usually talkative when he's comfortable with people. But Sale is 100% me.
Everywhere he's not afraid of crowds, he's just a wild animal. But as wild as he is, to me, he's still mine. He doesn't earn anything from me.
His food is ready for him, his shelter is there for him. He never has to ask for anything. It's already provided for. And even if he did wrong, I'm still stuck with him. He's mine.
Are you getting what I'm saying? Now, you belong to God, but you're trying to earn love of a God who birthed you, who knows you before you know him. You see, when the kids are born and they're growing up, the first person they recognize is their mother. Not because they know her, it's because they know she's food.
Can I speak the truth? So, the little infant they know exactly where the milk is. So, the first concept is you're food. Then they're like, "Okay, this person's also comfort. I know this heartbeat. Okay, this calms me down." Then when they grow up, they start recognizing, "Oh, this is mama." Then later on they discover, "That's Who's this guy that is always hanging out with us?" "Oh, that Yeah, that that's dad."
But, they are growing in the discovery. We haven't changed. He's the one that is changing. He's just growing in understand, "Oh my God, they love me. Oh, they provide for me." And they will take a lot of things for granted because to them it's what is supposed to happen. So, they are growing in the love that is already present.
For God commanded his love towards us while we were still yet what? Sinners.
Can I tell you a secret?
God doesn't love you any different now than when you were in the world.
Shocking, but it's the truth. He doesn't change. So, if he loves you more because you are now a Christian, then his love was fake. You're earning a place in him.
But, he commended his love towards us while we were still yet sinners, that Jesus died for us. God's greatest treasure is his only begotten son.
And he gave him up when we were at the worst. So, now that we are good, God has nothing else to give us. Everything he gives us is what Jesus already owns. So, when he gave Jesus, he gave everything. Before we even knew who he is.
So, the idea that you need to have, because you have to understand spiritual things about concepts of the spirit. Look at your neighbor, say concept.
Concept.
I can't hear you.
Concept.
I can't hear you.
Concepts.
These are concepts, because when Jesus was saying, "The kingdom of God is like a farmer who went to plant seeds." That's a concept. He's using the farming language or agricultural language to communicate to farmers or to people who knew about farming, because that was the main trade, one of the main trades in that time. So, he was using concepts from their time to explain heavenly realities.
