One Of The Most Misunderstood Scriptures: I Am The Lord I Change Not

Summary
In one line: "I am the Lord, I change not" (Malachi 3:6) doesn't mean God always does the same thing — it means He never stops being who He is: the God who keeps doing new things.
Key insights
- The gospel is free, ministry isn't. Permits, insurance, sound, staff with families — people stuck in the past cry "making money off the gospel." "The wealth of the wicked is stored up for the righteous" (Proverbs 13:22), yet the church won't go get it.
- God changes His mind but not His purpose. Like someone who says "I don't change" meaning "I keep travelling." His unchanging nature: He picks broken people and makes them great, takes nobodies and makes kings, qualifies those men disqualify. "Go study what He did yesterday" (Hebrews 13:8) — "Behold, I do a new thing" (Isaiah 43:19).
- We ask for His "ancient paths" (Jeremiah 6:16) to stay current — "when I move, you move." "Trust Me by listening to Me again."
- The manna stopped the day after Israel ate the corn of Canaan (Joshua 5:10-12). Don't pray for manna when there's corn in the land. God did send manna again — Jesus, the true bread (John 6:31-58): the same provision in a different form. You need eyes to see the season has changed.
- When you're in God's hands, your problem is no longer the devil — it's your hearing. Israel's delay wasn't the devil but stiff-neckedness; obey and you will have good success (Joshua 1:8). "What ministry did the devil ever stop? If yours is stopped, you didn't hear what He wanted." The apostles were persecuted and the gospel still spread.
- Clean people's ears while they enjoy it — like a cotton swab that tickles. The word must be sweet like honey (Psalm 19:10) yet sharp like a two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12).

Amen.
The wealth of the wicked
stored up for the righteous. But the righteous are in the church are not going to the wicked to take it.
We are wondering. Ah, a pastor says I'm going on tour. I need you all to buy tickets. The gospel is free. This is not before Christ or after Christ where you could just go in the field and preach.
It's not like that. You want to stand outside to preach, you need permits.
If there's a crowd of people, you need insurance.
You need to buy sound or hire sound. And there are people who are working. They will leave their families not for charity. They came to work. Amen.
People on payroll, they have families to provide for.
But because they don't see all those things, their whole mind is just on y'all are making money off the gospel.
It's because people's minds are locked up in the past.
Amen.
And they don't understand if the rules of the game change, even God changes
his dealings. Amen.
When people say people read this long, they read this the wrong way. When the Bible says, "I am the Lord, I change not," that has been the most misread scripture and misunderstood scripture in the history of Christian. I am the Lord, I change not.
But you need to look at the passages before why he's saying that. I am the Lord that changes not meaning I am the Lord who does not change. Now let us look at God's history. Has God ever changed his mind?
Yes. Many times he doesn't change his purpose but he changes his mind. So if God says I am the Lord that change not, he's telling you I'm the Lord who doesn't stop changing his mind.
Because he's telling you about his nature,
but you are thinking
my God,
if you know, let me give you an example. If you know me to be somebody that moves from one city to the next city to the next city and you meet me and say, you know, man, you know I don't change. You seeing me in LA and you assume, oh, he's not going to change where he is. No, that's not what I'm saying. You know, I'm going to keep traveling.
I don't change.
So, when God says, "I am the Lord, I change not," you need to study him and say, "Uh, sir, what do you do? I choose broken people and make them great. I am the Lord that change not." So, expect me to pick somebody that you will not respect and I will make you respect them. I am the Lord that change not. Why? I take poor people and turn them into the wealthiest people that ever lived. I am the Lord. I change not.
Expect me to take a nobody and make them into a king.
I am the Lord. I change not. [applause and cheering]
EXPECT ME TO QUALIFY THOSE ARE THOSE WHO ARE disqualified by men
AND I WILL JUSTIFY THEMSELVES. I will justify them myself. I'm the Lord.
I change not.
But when people read that I am the Lord, I don't change. They think that and they say he's the same yesterday, today, and forever. Go study what he did yesterday.
Go study what he's doing today.
He's telling you, behold, I do a new thing. Because God is always doing what? A new thing. So, you are expecting him to be like 1902.
And he's telling you, I don't change my ways and I won't stand changing it for you.
I am the Lord. I change not. So Jeremiah discovering this, he says, hey sir, my Lord and my God. Teach me your ancient paths. Show me your ways.
The reason why we pray for God's ways is not because we don't know his ways, but we want to be current.
We want to be in season.
When he moves, we also move.
When God looks at you, he says, "When I move,
you move.
When I move, you move."
When I The problem is when God moves, you're not moving. You're waiting for the old
and you're wondering, "Ah, has God abandoned me? But I will trust the Lord." The Lord said, "Trust me by listening to me again."
Trust me by listening to me what? Again,
I want you to go to the book of uh Joshua chapter 5. from verse 11, I believe.
Oh Jesus. Let's let's start from verse 10. Actually, let's start from 10. I'm sorry. And the children of Israel encamped in Gilgal and kept the Passover on the 14th day of the month at even in the plains of Jericho. And they did eat of the old corn of the land on the moral after the Passover unleaven cakes and perched corn in the selfsame day.
And the mana seized on the tomorrow after they had eaten of the old corn of the land. Neither had their children of Israel mana anymore, but they did eat of the fruit of the land of Canaan that year. You are in the wilderness.
I gave you mana.
Now you have entered the new land. I can't give you mana when there is corn in the land.
Let me talk to overflow. Let me talk to somebody who will hear me. NOW YOU IMAGINE PEOPLE STILL SAYING, "FATHER, SEND MANA. YOU DID IT YESTERDAY. You can do it today." Mana.
God did send mana.
But he sent a man,
the true bread,
the living Jesus. God reincarnated in the flesh. And he came as a different manner. But this mana was flesh and blood.
But to God is still mana.
He came to them and said, "Unless you eat, My flesh is true meat. My blood is true drink.
Unless you eat of this bread of life, you will die. They said, "Our father ate mana." We are waiting for mana. He said, "Your fathers ate mana and they died. But whoever eats of this bread,
they will not die."
I'm here to prophesy to you. Amen.
God will send you the same thing in a different way. But you have TO HAVE THE EYES TO UNDERSTAND THAT THE SEASON HAS CHANGED, the hour HAS CHANGED, AND THE PROVISION AND the
Amen.
You are broke
not because it's God's will.
You are stagnant, but it's not God's will.
You've been binding demons and God say, "Hey, hey, hey,
you're in my hands. There's no demon here. You're not listening."
The children's the children of Israel's delay had nothing to do with the devil. It had to do with their stiff nakedness.
You see, when you're in God's hand, your issue is no longer the devil.
Amen.
Your issue is really you having the capacity to listen and to hear God.
Amen.
God kept telling them, "Why is it that you cannot hear my voice? Why is it that you cannot understand my speech? Why is it that you're not hearing my voice? Why is it that you're not hearing my my my commands? If you listen to me, then you will have good great success." God's issue is why aren't you listening?
Because the Christian's issue is not the devil.
That's the world's problem. For us, the devil is under our feet.
I think the church is on this side. I don't know about this one. I SAID THE DEVIL IS UNDER OUR FEET.
The devil is under our feet.
Our issue is we don't listen.
Then things go wrong.
Then we start blaming the devil. Satan, you're not going to stop my ministry. What ministry did the devil ever stop? If your ministry is getting stopped, you did not hear what he wants you to do.
It is your ministry. You said it correctly, not his.
I know pastors don't like to hear that, but I'm telling you the truth.
If your ministry is not thriving, is not the devil.
Because the apostles were persecuted. They were fought. And the gospel still spread like wildfire.
You, there is no one persecuting you. But you're blaming all these fake pastors. What do they have to do with your message? If you're the light, you should shine brighter than every darkness. Why aren't you shining? Because you didn't hear what he wants you to do. You gave yourself an assignment in the name of God [cheering]
claiming that God said,
but when you're put to the test,
you're like, ah, you know, the devil is is cleaving people to to those whom they want to hear. They want messages that tickle their ears.
Do you know how you clean your ears?
You put something in your ear and you clean it, right? You you move in there. Do you know that it also tickles, right? So you enjoy it. Why can't you clean people's ears while they enjoy the word of God? [cheering]
applause
Because the word of God must be sweet like honey, but still sharp like a double-edged sword. Enough to convict.
But your word is falling to deaf ears. It's not even arriving.
So
